Soul Extinction is a very special buff that some equipment like the Dark Lord set have. It is also present as a permanent buff in all True World events. When this buff is present, on top of Kills and Injuries, during battle Troops are Extinguished. This is seen as a blue status in your Battle Report. Troops inflicted with Soul Extinction are outright destroyed and permanently removed from the player's Castle.
Be very careful when you are battling an opponent that has the Soul Extinction buff as with enough of the buff they'll be able to inflict very heavy permanent losses to your Castle.
